Uncle Jim (and Aunt Kay) were my favorite aunt and uncle. I'll always remember Uncle Jim's love of college football, history...and salt...lots of salt! I fondly remember the baseball game (Mets beat The Pirates) where he and my dad, and my cousin Jim, had tickets right behind home plate (the only thing separating us from the home plate umpire was a wire net and air!) The trip to Gettysburg, PA, is also something I remember with fondness. Lastly, I once stayed a whole summer at his house in NJ when I was 15. The first time I ever drank was that summer...and I think I instigated it by convincing my cousins that we could drink Uncle Jim's beer and pay the neighbor to buy some and replace it. It backfired when he refused. I then convinced my cousins to blame it on me...so he'd go easy on us. I'm sorry to Uncle Jim that we drank all his Pabst Blue Ribbon that night...and sorry to my cousins that we all got in trouble for it. We'll miss you Uncle Jim...but it was a heckuva ride!

It is hard, and yet so easy, to put into words what kind of a man you were Grandpa. To me, when I think of you, I think of a man that I can only hope and pray that one day I can say that I'm at least half the man you were. A man that always put his Family first, and second to no one. A man that always held his country up high and his faith in Lord just a bit higher. A man that Loved his wife from the day they met, until the day he died. The kind of man that possessed all of these qualities and more. A man that, through is wisdom and teachings has instilled most, if not all of these qualities in each of his seven children. You will be deeply missed, by not only myself, but all who had the pleasure of meeting you. I love you and hope one day I can make you as proud as I am to have had you for a Grandfather.

It is very difficult to bid farewell to the last of the true tough guys. Dad, you have set a moral and ethical standard that I have always tried to live up to and forever will. I hope that the example I set for my own children is half as good as the one you set for me. Now..."Don't let me hear a peep out of you!.....peep". Forever in my memory and in my heart

Psalm 116:15. What can I say Dad. What can I say to the man who was and still is my hero. What can I say to the man who taught me by example. What can I say to the man who lived life to the fullest. What can I say to the man who was and still is my Dad. I can say I love you. I miss you Dad. May you rest comfortably in the arms of Jesus now and forever.

On Behalf of Patrick's co-workers, our sympathies go out to the family and friends of James Gilmore. While we did not have the pleasure of knowing James personally, perhaps we witness some of his traits through Patrick - great work ethic, friendly, conscientious, funny, dedicated.... While we're certain he will be missed greatly, we wish you peace in the moments of celebration and sharing of fond memories. God Bless.
