James Richard Callison, Jr. , age 57, beloved father and son passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a community that will forever feel his absence.

James was a devoted father, proud grandfather, and a man known for his kindness, humor, and incredible work ethic. A true jack of all trades, he could fix just about anything and was always building, repairing, or helping someone in need. If something was broken, he was the first person you called — and he never hesitated to show up. He loved sharing his knowledge and providing opportunities and building blocks for success for younger generations. He believed in second chances and often provided them to individuals to change their circumstances.

He took great pride in doing things the right way and believed in hard work, integrity, and treating people with respect. James was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone and expect nothing in return. More than anything, he loved his family. He adored his grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. The love he had for his children and family was steady, strong, and unconditional.

James shared special and unique bonds with each of his daughters. With Ariel, he loved building and painting model cars, working on vehicles together, and sending funny videos back and forth — a humor and connection that was uniquely theirs. With Jessica, he treasured time spent outdoors fishing, exploring nature preserves, doing yard work, or tinkering with a truck in the driveway — moments filled with laughter and lessons that will never be forgotten. In his own way, he made each of them feel deeply loved, equally cherished, and incredibly special.

He leaves behind his mother Geneva Craft, his siblings Mark Callison, Christine Bewley, Jody Callison, and Jamie Montag, his soulmate Amy Callison, his children Ariel Callison and Jessica Parker, his beloved grandchildren Oaklyn Parker and Emberlyn Parker and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. He was preceded in death by Big Jim Callison, Sr.

Though his time with us feels far too short, the impact he made and the footprints he left on our hearts will never  fade.
