John David Harris, 73, of North Port, FL, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, peacefully at home.
He was born in York, AL. December 25, 1951, to John Dearman Harris and Cora Elizabeth Haynie (née Eaves). He will be profoundly missed.
David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy; sons: Timothée Valentin (Augusto), Chris (Mandi), James (Lorrie), and Erik Lambert (Megan); grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mercedes Hager (Luke), Elijah, Aiden, Nora, Rose, Lori, and Silas; siblings: Beth Vining (Averett), Mary Ray (Lavern), and Ronnie Harris; and a large, loving extended family. David is preceded in death by his parents, John Dearman Harris and Cora Elizabeth Haynie; brother: Stanley (Tammy).
David enjoyed boating, fishing, and spending time with family. He was an avid gardener. He also loved spending time tinkering in the garage, and he was always fixing things around the house.
A celebration of life will be held at 5P.M. for David on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Breckenridge Clubhouse located at 20091 Wimbleton Ct., in Estero, Florida 33928. Please RSVP to Mandi at (239) 851-9200.
Services in Alabama were held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home in York, AL, with Rev. Beth Vining officiating. Burial followed the service at Siloam Cemetery in York, AL. Dress was casual for the services.
