Joyce Gooden nee Anglin left us on October 8, 2022, at the age of 96 in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Joyce was born on December 29, 1925 in Kingston, Jamaica to Blanch & Cecil Anglin. She attended Saint Simon & graduated from Excelsior College in Kingston, JA. She migrated to the United States, where she met & married her husband Donald Gooden in New York City who preceded her in death. She was a Caretaker for The Hyman & The Lee Families. After her husband’s death she retired & moved to Port Charlotte, FL in 1989 to be near her brother, Alfonso “Barry” & sister-in-law Rita. She was a member of Port Charlotte United Methodist Church in Port Charlotte, FL. She loved reading the Bible & The Daily Word. Family was her number one priority. Her pastime was doing her word search puzzles & watching baseball & tennis. (She loved the NY Mets & The William Sisters). She devoted much of her time showing her love & care for family & friends. She always remembered everyone’s birthday & always had a kind word. She was a beautiful woman in heart and soul and will forever be remembered by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her brother, Alfonso Barrington Anglin; sister-in-law, Rita Anglin; her niece, Sonia C. Anglin; her nephew Karl Anglin, grand and great nieces, nephews & a host of Family & Friends.

A visitation will be held 10:00AM-11:00AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM, Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Entombment will follow to Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte, FL.
