It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julia M. Fuentes, 97, of North Port, Florida on Friday, March 7, 2025. She died peacefully at her daughter’s home under the care of Tidewell Hospice.

We will miss her more than words can express. She was born on February 13, 1928, in Humacao, Puerto Rico and moved to Florida 26 years ago from Middletown, New York.  Julia was a secretary for a quality control company in Middletown for over 30 years. She was the queen of dominoes and loved to dance, sew, cross stitch and bowl; and was a former member of the Spanish/American Society of Port Charlotte, Florida.  Julia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a loving friend to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Fernando Fuentes. Survivors include her loving daughters, Zulma L. Solero of North Port, FL and Mabel Kaplan of Boulder, CO; one brother, five sisters; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, March 14, 2025, with a Catholic Wake Service at 11:00 AM at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Florida 33948, followed by Entombment at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
