Marion Lenore McVicker, 72, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday, December 19, 2024, peacefully at home.

Marion was born May 8, 1952, in Queens Borough, City of New York, New York to the late Harold Joseph Smith and Mary Jane (Sales) Smith. She moved to Port Charlotte in 1997, from Long Island NY, town of Ronkonkoma. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and rarely ever missed a Mass. She loved boating, fishing and going out to lunch with her husband. She really enjoyed gardening at home, keeping her home in pristine condition, and maintaining her entire household to look phenomenal. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved it when her six children and husband were together with her.

Survived by her loving family, her husband, Michael H. McVicker, two daughters, Rachel Shockley_and Lenore Delucie; four sons, Adam Heinlein, Thomas Heinlein, Shawn Heinlein, and Brian Heinlein; a sister, Barbra Lamm; two brothers, Robert Smith and Campbell Smith, 12 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Marion’s life will be held Wednesday 1:00 PM, January 15, 2024, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 21505 Augusta Ave., Port Charlotte, FL 33952. Interment will follow in St. Charles Borromeo Memorial Garden.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church or a favorite charity

Words cannot express how much I miss you, mommy. I miss our long, daily conversations with your unsolicited words of wisdom that always came at exactly the right moment. I miss laughing so hard at your witty sense of humor when you didn’t even know that you were being funny. I miss everything about you. You were the strongest, kindest person that I have ever known. You have risen above unimaginable challenges and you always remained strong for your family. You truly were an amazing person. I was one of the lucky few who got to call you mom. I am so grateful to you and I am so proud to be your daughter. I know that you are at peace now sitting beside Jesus, Grandma and Grandpa. I will continue to talk to you through my prayers, everyday as you watch over us from Heaven. I love you so much.

I am sending my heartfelt sympathy and thoughts and prayers to my brother and all the family. I am so sorry for your loss. My sister-in-law will be missed dearly. Of course there’s such a thing as Angels___ Only sometimes they don’t have wings and we call them Friends. Marion was my best friend. I miss her so much.

I miss our morning chats over coffee mama. I miss your guidance, your honesty, your support and your humor. I learned so much from you and hope to pass it all on to my children in your honor. You were the best mom, and sacrificed so much for your children. Your actions spoke volumes for the unconditional Love you had for us all. I am so happy you are with gramma and grandpa and Jesus now and not suffering. I love you always mama xoxo. I promise to keep having coffee with you every morning! Please watch over us all and keep protecting us. We love you.

Marion was an amazing friend, a dedicated wife, loving mother and addored "Nanny" to her grandchildren. Her love of God and the Holy Mother was one of her strongest treasures. Sher smile, laughter and her amazing chocolate chip cookies will be missed by many. Her baking was her way of sharing her love with many. Sore high my friend sore high on Eagles Wings.

This photo was taken in September when I visited. Marion was so kind to me even though we did not know each other a long time. She was my sister-in-law. I miss her candidness and her open heart. The world needs more people like her.

We will miss you deeply mom, we will take good care of dad, we love you

My sister, Marion, celebrated her first Christmas in heaven, with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her heavenly family. Someday we all will be together again. We will miss her greatly.
