Patricia “Pat” Jehlen, a resident of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 89.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 17, 1936. She was predeceased by her husband (Richard) of almost 50 years. Pat is survived by her son Richard A. Jehlen, sister Elizabeth Fischer, brother William Fischer, grandchildren Carly Hart, Richard D. Jehlen, Amanda Haas, and great-grandchildren Ruby Theresa and Summer Jade Hart. She was loving and devoted to family and friends and a joy to those she met even briefly.
Pat’s life was an incredible journey from Brooklyn, NY to North Miami, Florida and eventually to Port Charlotte, Florida – while global travels included the Middle East, Europe, and Asia, Disney World with family was her favorite. Throughout her life, Pat’s love, guidance, and counsel were shared broadly and deeply with family and friends for whom her home was always a place of welcome and refuge. This included the numerous animals she loved and for which she cared through the years. While juggling the management of the back-office of their business, travel and family, Pat’s hobbies included ceramics, tennis, coloring – along with a short-lived period of needlepoint. Her warmth, love, and quiet grace will be sorely missed.
In lieu of flowers, her family kindly asks that donations be made to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) at https://gifts.worldwildlife.org/gift-center to help the Tigers and Pandas she so treasured.
A Memorial Mass will be said at 11:00 Am on Monday, January 26, 2026, at St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church located at 1441 Spear Street in Port Charlotte, FL.
