Robert F. Bob Reed, 80, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Sunday afternoon, July 6, 2008 after a long illness at TideWell Hospice & Palliative Care House in Englewood, Florida.
Born Robert Frank Reed on April 29, 1928 in Queens, New York, Bob, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Korean War, and retired hospital machinist and mechanic, moved to Port Charlotte from his long time residence on New York’s Long Island, in 1993. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, and American Legion Post No. 110, both in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Bob is survived by his loving family; his beloved wife of 51 years, Jeanette A. Reed; one son, Robert (wife-Lisa) Reed of Islip Terrace, NY, one daughter, Pamela Eriksen of NC; a grandson, Robert Eriksen, and granddaughter, Chrissy Reed; three brothers, Dave Reed of Massapequa, NY, William Reed of Brooklyn, NY, and Wallace Reed of NY; two sisters, Pat Roehling of Brookfield, CT, and Dawn McLean of Port Charlotte, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
