She was born December 7, 1940 in Boston, MA the middle daughter of five children born to Theodore and Helen Ringler. Helen married Mike Mitchell and moved to Rockledge, FL and then to Miami. Mike and Helen raised two beautiful children while also spending time in Fresno, CA; Boulder, CO; Little Rock, AR; and Falls Church, VA before finally settling in Port Charlotte, FL during their later years.
Helen was a woman of much integrity and talent who had a beautiful free spirit. She had a passion for her family, and also for home design, ceramics and sewing. After moving to Port Charlotte, she went to work for Bill’s Shoe Repair, and loved the business so much that she bought it. Helen delighted in spending time with her neighbors and in the community.
Survivors include Helen’s daughter, Linda M. Mitchell of Tierra Verde, FL; her son, Michael R. Mitchell, II of Golden, CO; her sister, Evelyn Higgins of Rockland, MA; 3 brothers – George Ringler of Norwood, MA, Charles Ringler of Phoenix, AZ and Ted Ringler, Jr. of Scituate, MA; and her lovely granddaughter, Sedona M. Mitchell.
