December 7, 1940 - April 12, 2010

She was born December 7, 1940 in Boston, MA the middle daughter of five children born to Theodore and Helen Ringler. Helen married Mike Mitchell and moved to Rockledge, FL and then to Miami. Mike and Helen raised two beautiful children while also spending time in Fresno, CA; Boulder, CO; Little Rock, AR; and Falls Church, VA before finally settling in Port Charlotte, FL during their later years.

Helen was a woman of much integrity and talent who had a beautiful free spirit. She had a passion for her family, and also for home design, ceramics and sewing. After moving to Port Charlotte, she went to work for Bill’s Shoe Repair, and loved the business so much that she bought it. Helen delighted in spending time with her neighbors and in the community.

Survivors include Helen’s daughter, Linda M. Mitchell of Tierra Verde, FL; her son, Michael R. Mitchell, II of Golden, CO; her sister, Evelyn Higgins of Rockland, MA; 3 brothers – George Ringler of Norwood, MA, Charles Ringler of Phoenix, AZ and Ted Ringler, Jr. of Scituate, MA; and her lovely granddaughter, Sedona M. Mitchell.

Mike and Linda - Sorry to hear of your mom's passing. It seems as tho it was only yesterday that I last saw her. Hey Linda, So sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I have fond memories of her from our teenage years. The last time I saw her was on my honeymoon in '88. She cooked us dinner and we had a great time. I know she will always be looking in on you, so if you get a sudden intution or feel a comfortable breeze;stop and wonder if it is her. Love, Janet

Linda and Michael, you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. We know what a loss of a parent is, it is painfull. Your Mother was a wonderful woman and we are so glad to have meet her and spent time with her.

So sorry to hear about Helen. She and Jill were such good friends. I remember some of the parties that they attended with Jill and Ken. They knew how to enjoy life. Jill and Ken really missed Helen and Mike when they moved away. We had some of Jill's movies made into DVD's. They include some of the parties with Penny, Dick, Norma, Owen, Mike and Helen out by the pool. What a wonderful time they had together. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family as you go thru this difficult time.

I will never forget the wonderful times we shared, especially at your home in Miami Shores. It was quite a while ago, but I recently came across a photo of the Mitchells, the Gilberts, and the Panariellos. My heart goes out to you, Linda, and you, Michael. Your loss is great.

Helen was a wonderful sister and sister in law. She was a rebel and happlily lived her life as she choose. She was talented, a great dancer, and had wonderful taste in shoes :-). Despite only having a grade school education, she was able to hob nob with and impress everyone who she came in contact with at all levels, using her great intelligence, fast wit, and singular opinion on everything, a hallmark of the Ringler clan. She was always learning. She had a good sense of humor and was a loving sister and great and caring mother. We will miss her every day but she will always be with us. Love, Charlie and Ilene Ringler

We will miss Helen's warm smile and her eagerness to spend time and visit while making everyone feel like a friend. She is now with her beloved Mike and we can be comforted knowing they are together again. We all have so many fond memories of special moments with Helen.
