Adella (Williams) Messam, 88, of Clearwater, Florida and former resident of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away July 1, 2019 at ManorCare Health Services- Dunedin, FL as a result of a stroke.

She was born on May 10, 1931 in Scarborough, St. Ann, Jamaica to Joslyn and Drucilla (Gordon) Williams. She was the sixth child of thirteen children. In 1959 she married Ivan Messam of Kingston, St. Andrew Parrish, Jamaica. Adella retired in March 1997 and moved to Port Charlotte with her husband. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy of Punta Gorda.

Adella is survived and mourned by her only child, a son, Samuel Messam of Clearwater, Florida with whom she lived with prior to her illness; brothers, Peter and Frederick; sisters, Mary, Cassita and Louress; and a whole host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elder Ivan G. Messam, who died in April of 2011. Adella will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Friday 6-8 PM, July 19, 2019 at Roberson Funeral Home, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, Florida 33948. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, July 20, 2019 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel followed by entombment at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte, Florida.
