Adolphe Choute, 76, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at his home in Punta Gorda.
Adolphe was born November 22, 1935 in Haiti to Altinor and Bonite Choute and moved to Punta Gorda in 1998 from Queens, New York. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. In 1960, he met and married Lemaine Legentus and migrated to the United States shortly after. Adolphe lived in New York for 38 years. While in New York he worked for several companies and organizations including the Whitney Museum of American Art. He worked for the United Nations for 10 years prior to his retirement. Following his retirement in 1998, he relocated to Florida. He resided in Punta Gorda until the time of his demise on May 11, 2012. He was a quiet, kind, loving, godly and prayerful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He had a very pleasant personality and made everyone feel appreciated. He loved movies, puzzles and music of which he had a very large collection.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Lemaine Choute. They raised 4 children and regularly describe him as a very strict disciplinarian who also loved to spoil his children. His children were 3 daughters; Bertha Cousin, Colette Choute and Sonia Choute; a son; Donald Choute; 5 grandchildren, Anissa, Bianca, Angelique, Saniya and Sean; 5 brothers; Alexandre (his twin), Alfred, Alberic, Alphonse, Alberto and Alexis; 2 sisters; Annette and Ghislaine; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends to mourn his loss. Adolphe had the greatest love and concern for his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 5:00PM-8:00PM, Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM, Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte, FL.
