Alan was born on April 21st, 1957 in Queens, New York. He attended both the University of Arizona and Fairleigh Dickinson University where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degrees. As a proud resident of Charlotte County, Alan served as President of both the Sunrise Kiwanis and Coastal Conservation Association. Alan was also the owner of Rubin Optical located in Punta Gorda from 1984 to 2016 when he retired. Alan was a man full of humor and charisma. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his father Lon Rubin, brother Dr. David Rubin and his children Tara Marshall, Tami Hudson, Jason Rubin, and Sarah Rubin.
A committal ceremony will be held for Alan on the open Gulf coastal waters on Saturday, December 11th, 2021, departing on King Fisher Fleet’s chartered boat at 10:45 a.m. from Fisherman’s Village at 1200 W. Retta Esplanade #16a in Punta Gorda and returning at 12:30 p.m.
