Alfred Picerno, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Village Place Health & Rehabilitation Center in Port Charlotte.
Al was born January 30, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA and moved to Port Charlotte 28 years ago from Runnemede, N.J. Al was a Korean War veteran who served proudly in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed woodworking, painting and other hobbies, though his most pleasurable moments were when he helped others in need. He was always there to provide a hand to those who needed it. He was a wonderful husband, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Rose Picerno; a brother, Joseph Picerno of Port Charlotte; a granddaughter, Dana (Mike) Vervier of Pittsburg, PA; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 10:00AM-11:00AM, Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00AM, Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte, FL.
