ALTA MAY HOLMES, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Monday, June 14, 2010
at Life Care Center of Punta Gorda.
She was born May 20, 1924 in Jackson County, Ohio and moved to Port Charlotte
in 2002 from Akron, Ohio. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Ohio and
enjoyed playing the card game Euchre at the Charlotte County Cultural Center in Port Charlotte.
Survived by her loving family, two daughters, Brenda (Bob) Lepley of North Port, FL
and Suzan (Jim) Coleman of Lancaster, PA; a daughter-in-law, Bobbie Holmes of Savannah, GA;
4 grandchildren, Johanna (Jim) Smith, Allyson Lepley, Tracy Woodyard and Patrick Coleman; two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Caroline Smith; She was the last of nine siblings and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Holmes who died in 1982 and a son, Douglas T. Holmes who died in 2006.
Memorial services and interment will be held at a later date in Ohio.
