Andrew John Struk, 79, of Punta Gorda, Florida, formerly of Detroit and Saline, Michigan, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at ShorePoint Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida. Andy was born May 12, 1943, in Dearborn, Michigan to the late Marian Neal and Michael Struk.
A graduate of Holy Redeemer High School, he then attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and graduated with a BS in accounting and finance. He also completed the Executive Graduate Program in Health Care Financial Management at Ohio State University. Throughout his career he worked in hospital accounting and finance, serving as a Manager of Accounting and Accounts Receivable at the University of Michigan Hospital, Director of Finance at Chelsea Community Hospital in Chelsea, Michigan and Vice President/Finance at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida.
In his free time, Andy loved boating and playing golf and was a member of the St. Andrew’s South Golf Club. He was a member of The Rotary Club of Murdock, Florida for many years where he was past President and Treasurer, as well as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the Punta Gorda Isles Floridians Club where he met many good friends and golfing buddies.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Marian Neal and Michael Struk, son Jeffrey and Uncle Andrew Zywotko. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elaine Struk and their beloved children and daughter-in-law Christopher (Idella Struk) and Aimee Struk. He leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Kimberly, Daniel, Rachel, and Zoe Struk. You will be greatly missed by your family and friends.
Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan at a later Date. Arrangements by Roberson Funeral Home Punta Gorda Chapel.
