Angela Elaine Powell, age 62, of North Port, Florida passed away peacefully on January 7^th, 2026, at the Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, FL, surrounded by her family and friends.

Angela was born in Chippenham, Wiltshire, England, on May 23, 1963, to Vincent and Jeanette Thompson. In her early years, Angela attended Ivy Lane Primary School and then Hardenhuish Girls’ School, both in Chippenham, Wiltshire. Later, her family moved to Birmingham, England, where Angela completed her final year of high school at Holte secondary school.

At the tender age of 16, Angela met the love of her life, Paul Powell, whom she later married. This union produced two children, Jason and Lisa; her children were the center of her world.  Angela was a devoted and loving mother.

Eventually, Angela and her family moved to Florida, where she went back to school and became a licensed esthetician. After completing this course of study, she opened and ran a spa in Sarasota, working as a skilled, caring esthetician and was often referred to as the “skin whisperer.” Angela’s energy, talent, and expertise touched everyone she encountered.

Angela had a strong love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, from a very early age and dedicated her life to him. She was proud to be a Christian and would put Jesus first in everything that she did.

Angela is survived by her parents, Jeanette and Vincent Thompson, her beloved sister Faithmarie Thompson, her brothers Lloyd Thompson and Alfred Robinson, her children Jason and Lisa Powell, and her Grandchildren Jaziah, Jaden, Noah, and Zion.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Port Charlotte New Testament Church of God, 21011 Midway Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida 33952. Interment will follow to Venice Memorial Gardens,1950 Center Road, Venice, FL 34292. A Repast to follow back to Port Charlotte New Testament Church of God.
