Born on July 30, 1947 in Cambridge, Ohio, Anita came to Florida from her native Ohio at the age of 13. A loving daughter, wife and mother, Anita, longtime resident of Charlotte County, worked over 23 years for UPS operations in Charlotte County, and volunteered over past years at the Peace River Wildlife Center in Punta Gorda.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Charles E. Harless II; a daughter, Travis W. Harless of Sarasota, FL, and son Robert G. Harless of Port Charlotte; step-sons, Charles E. Harless III, of Ellijay, GA, and Timothy W. Harless of North Port, FL; her mother, Alice G. Gaus and sister, Martha Young, both of Martinsburg, WV; and seven grandchildren.

I had enjoyed working with her through the 15 years I was there. She was a great support for me. We use to meet up after preload to just talk. She shared the same birthday as my father and she always rememberd that after he passed away. She was such a great help and to me when things were tough. I wish I could be there for her family, but I am away right now. But I am sending my thoughts and prayers out to all of you.

What can I say. I'm in total shock. My heart and prayers go out to her family. Anita and I worked together for 17 of her 23 years at U.P.S. I loved that women. She was so funny and we had the same sense of humor.
She would always have a new joke for me. When I last saw her on April 30th...my last day of work because I retired, ...she said LUCKY YOU...WATCH OUT BECAUSE I'LL BE RIGHT BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU. Now she is ahead of me. WE will meet up again and she'll have another joke for me and we will laugh until one of us pee's our pants.
She was so looking to retire from that place. This is yet another reason why we should all live life to the fullest and live life like its our last day on earth. Because when God wants you....he'll take you. So you have to be ready.
I will miss her greatly.
