Born on April 15, 1941 to Mathias Cazal and Elise Emile in Anse-d’Hainault, Haiti, Antoinette was amongst the eldest of eight sisters and three brothers. From a young age she was a faithful believer and a talented seamstress, which caught the eye of Dulnor, a handsome young school teacher also from Anse-d’Hainault. Engaged in 1960 and married in 1965, they were together for over sixty-two years and had eight beautiful children. Antoinette was the first in her family to immigrate to the United States in 1971, settling first in Brooklyn, NY (Canarsie) and later relocating to Port Charlotte, FL in 1989–where she worked for over 15 years as a compassionate and caring nursing assistant. Over time, she sponsored her husband, mother and sisters’ immigration to the U.S., pioneering her family’s legacy in the United States. Antoinette was very active in her church community and was a devout and fervent servant until the very end. She blessed countless lives with her loving kindness and made many lifelong friends along the way.
Antoinette is preceded in death by her sons André-Marie and Rosedel, daughter Myriame, granddaughter Shana-Kay and brother Joseph. She is survived by her husband Dulnor; son Dickens (Peemoy); daughters Gaurety, Dulna, Elise (Anthony) and Ruth (Ernst); grandchildren Nicholas, Ziare, Tiara, Matthew, Paris, Camden and Charlie; great-grandson Davontae; sisters Claire, Solange, Bertha, Paulette, Roselene, Immaculee and Jacqueline; brothers Louis and Antoine; and countless nieces, nephews, family members and friends. She will be deeply remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.
The viewing will be held on Sunday, November 13th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home in Port Charlotte. A Christian funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14th at 10 a.m. at Eben-Ezer Haitian Baptist Church in Port Charlotte. The burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
