He was born October 24, 1934 in Logansport, Indiana and moved to Punta
Gorda from Ontario, Canada in 2003. He was a retired switchman for Am-Track
Railroad. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 2606 of Punta Gorda, and Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). Art was a veteran of the Korean War, U.S. Army.
He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 20 years, Linda Shields of
Punta Gorda; a son, Robert (Janice) Shields of Greenwood, SC; and a granddaughter,
Julia Shields; 5 nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Shields.
