Augustine “Gus” Richard Atterole, 78, of Port Charlotte, Florida went home to Our Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte surrounded by family and friends.
Gus was born in Staten Island, New York to Augustine and Anna Atterole on October 14, 1935. Gus will be remembered for his great sense of humor and kind heart.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Josephine, daughters; Carolyn, Patricia, Robin, and Nicole, son; Augustine Robert Atterole , 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Mildred, brother; Anthony, and great grandson; Joseph.
The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Tidewell Hospice, Inc. www.givetidewell.org or Alzheimers Associations www.alz.org. I am so blessed to have My Daddy. He was my hero. He was always there for anyone who would ask with no questions asked. He was kind hearted, Loving, caring and was great at pulling a prank and quick with a joke. He taught me how to push foward and be strong and never give up. I will hold so many close memmories from you making us Sunday breakfast after church to holding me and caring for me when I needed you most. He would never tell us what to do but would guide us to figure things out by our selves without leaving our side. He was a hard working man and would give the shirt off his back without expecting anything in return. I will miss your warm smile, your loving smiles and your kisses that you have given me all through the years. You are my angel up above watching over me with no more suffering and uou will be forever in my heart with all my Love and admiration.
