Barbara Joyce Lindsay, 84, of Port Charlotte Florida, born in Harrisburg, PA, died on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL.
She moved to Patterson, NJ where she graduated Central High School, then moved to Trenton, NJ where she attended Tombrock College, eventually settling in West Milford NJ, marrying John Joseph Lindsay, and working many years with her husband in his plumbing company. Upon retirement Barbara moved to Port Charlotte, FL. For over a decade she worked at Burdines, then Dillard’s and retired again as a CNA at Lexington Manor in Port Charlotte. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and companion who will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband John J. Lindsay, dearest son, Jack J. Lindsay Jr; her father, Ralph S. Azensky, mother, Helen O’Hara; a sister, Dorothy A. DeSilva, brothers, Joseph S. Mitchell Jr, Ronald R. Jarensky, Richard A. Jarensky, and nephew, Jeffery R. Scheck.
Surviving Barbara are her companion of 25 years, Dan A. Collins, with whom she loved dancing, traveling, and eating out. Her beloved brother, Robert J. Azensky; two sons and their wives Mark D. and Cindy Lindsay, and Bryan W. and Kim Lindsay; grandchildren, Deanna P. Koether, Mark J. Lindsay, Miranda K. Lindsay, Decker R. Lindsay; great grandchildren Payton L. Koether; Ashton P. Koether; nieces Chelie Plicinski, Tabitha L. Mitchell, Natasha V. Dvorak, Crystal A. DeSilva; and Sister-in-Law, Sonia R. Dvorak.
Barbara will be laid to rest next to her sweet Jack Lindsay at Laurel Grove Cemetery, located at 295 Totowa Rd. Totowa, NJ.
