Bernard was born to Benjamin and Emma Coakley on June 22, 1923 in Newark, Ohio and moved to Punta Gorda in 1980 from there. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during WW ll. Bernard was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge #2153 Port Charlotte, D.A.V. of Port Charlotte, American Legion in Newark, OH and a member of Port Charlotte New Testament Church of God. He was a wonderful man who will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Angelee; 4 step-daughters, Vickie Bird, Anita, Alicia and Aquila Bennett and many friends.
Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Port Charlotte New Testament Church of God in Port Charlotte. Interment will be held at Wilson Cemetery, Newark, OH.
