Beverly J. Clayton, 86, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away peacefully on February 7, 2011 at Peace River Regional Medical Center, Punta Gorda, FL.
Beverly Clayton was born March 16, 1924 and lived in many states including California, Cape Cod, Massachusetts and for a long time in Florida. Beverly was very involved in her community, specifically the American Cancer Society where she won many awards for her participation and endeavors. She was, herself a cancer survivor of thirty years. She participated in fund raisers to improve the community’s surroundings and to be a positive influence to her neighbors. She volunteered whole heartedly coordinating Reach for Recovery Programs and the Uplifters Support Groups. Beverly organized and participated in health fairs and was a tireless fund raiser for the American Cancer Society organizations. Beverly loved to vacation on Siesta Keys, Specifically at Calini Beach Resort where she vacationed for many happy years and made many friends. Beverly was a good friend to many and will be sorely missed. GOD speed Beverly.
She is survived by her two step-sons, Robert Lingley of Bangor, Maine and Jack Lingley of Palm Beach, FL; a step-daughter, Mary Lingley of Bangor, Maine; a sister in NV; two nephews, Donald of Orlando, FL and Richard in Pennsylvania and a niece in law, Susan of Orlando, FL.
