With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother Brunilda “Brunie” Hernandez, who left us peacefully on September 13, 2025 at the age of 78.

Born on January 5, 1947 she spent her life devoted to her family, faith and friends. Brunie was a great cook. She loved going to bingo, sewing and arts and crafts. Brunie was known for her kindness, sense of humor, hard work, empathy, and creativity. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her compassion and strength.

She is survived by her children Brenda Serrano (Julian), Ivette Hernandez (Angelo), Eric Hernandez (Aurora), stepson Alexander Hernandez Jr. and grandchildren Nicole Hernandez, Ramon Martinez, Eric Cobian, Jillian Serrano, Angelica Rosa, Kendall Hernandez, Braydin Hernandez, Sophia Hernandez, and great grandchildren Alexis Hernandez, Steffan Hernandez, Erica Cobian, Moses Martinez, Noah Martinez, and Hannah Lily Martinez and great- great grandchild, John Bobarakis and Brunie’s siblings Hector Rivera(Cindy), Ana Belen Rivera, and Dario Rivera. Preceded in death by her husband Alejandro Hernandez, her parents Pedro Rivera and Sylvia Elena Martinez and brother Zacarias Rivera (Jane Marie) and Wilfredo Rivera.

We will gather to celebrate her life on November 1^st, 2025 @ 6:45pm at New Day Christian Church, 20212 Peachland Blvd. Port Charlotte, FL 33954. All who knew and loved her are welcome.
