Carol Jean Langheim, 96, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away peacefully Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her residence at Sandhill Gardens Retirement Center.
She was born September 30, 1927, in Marengo, Iowa to the late John Hofman and Helen (Husted) Hofman. Carol graduated from Palmyra High School, Palmyra, Illinois. She started singing and playing the accordion at the age of eight. She went on to play and sing in her adult life at several venues, including assisted living and nursing homes. Her main interest in her life was her family, her love of music and making people happy. Carol was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Punta Gorda and a member of the CMCC of Port Charlotte.
Carol is survived by a son, John (Susan) Langheim of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Marilyn (Roger) Starcher of Spencer, TN; two sisters, Helen Wood of Port Charlotte, FL and Judith (Lester) Rose of Superior, MT; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, with one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
