Caroline W. Schild, 85, formerly of Punta Gorda, Florida, died Monday night, April 28, 2008 at Harbour Health Center in Port Charlotte, Florida.
Born Caroline Frances Wagner on November 17, 1922 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Walter G. and Anna Lee (nee-Eaton) Wagner, Caroline, a beloved and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, moved to Punta Gorda in 1977 from Aurora, Colorado with her husband Charles H. Schild, Capt. USNR Ret. She was a member of Burnt Store Presbyterian Church, Punta Gorda, the Isles Yacht Club, and an avid doll collector, the Doll Club of Punta Gorda. Caroline is a former member of St. Andrews South Golf Club and Isles Civic Association.
She is survived by her loving daughters Jo Ellen Walling of Loveland, CO, and Barbara Ann Waugh of Venice, FL; four grandchildren, Tyson Konrad Walling, Tara Lee Walling, Suzanne Marie Schaubel and Michelle Lyn Schaubel; one sister, Mary Jo Alexander of Palm Coast, FL, and two sister-in-laws, Ruth Lively of Sandusky, OH and Marion Little of Columbus, OH. Caroline was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Charles, her parents, and a sister, Maxine Boykin.
