Mrs. Ceres Lundi, age 93, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.
Born on March 7, 1917 in Jeremie, Haiti to the late Thiophane and Celine (nee-Etienne) Barthelemy, Ceres, a dress maker in her native Haiti, had been a partime resident of Port Charlotte since 1982, becoming a permanent resident in 2003. Ceres, a loving and beloved wife and mother of seven, worked to help support her family, but gave fully of her time, love and self to her children and families, for which they are ever grateful.
She is survived by her children, Serge (wife – Fabienne) Lundi of Palm Harbor, FL, Gysette (husband – Jacques Mathieu) Lundi Blanc of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Louis Lundi of Fairfield, CT, Jean Raymond (wife – Rosemarie) Lundi of Haiti, Josie (husband – Pierre) Fortunat of Port Charlotte, FL, and Ginny (husband – Emile) Dumas of Port Charlotte; twenty two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many other extended family members. Ceres was, in addition to her parents, preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers; also, her beloved husband and father of her children, Estima Lundi in 1978, and a son, Eric Lundi in 1995.
