Charlene “Dee” Hannon, 84, of Lake Suzy, Florida passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024.
Charlene will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and a loyal friend who always made time for anyone and everyone. When she talked to you, she just made you feel good and special. Our Mom was a wonderful spirit with such lovely qualities. Her warm and inviting smile shined light on even the darkest of days. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious. Mom used to say to us when we were younger…. It is your choice if you have a good day! Make it a good day! She was just that type of person.
Mom attended Conard High School in West Hartford, CT along with graduating from Tunxis Community College. She never stopped taking classes either. Whether it was continued education, or classes just to better herself. She was heavily involved in our schools from being President of the PTA, Den Mother for the Girl Scouts, and a full-time taxi driver for sports activities and school events. As a family, we grew up in Newington, CT. The Saddle Hill families will forever be such special memories for all of us and our mother especially. All our neighbors made it such a wonderful place to grow up. If you talk to any of the kids that did grow up on Saddle Hill, we would all agree that you cannot duplicate that kind of experience. It was so very special.
Dee’s family was her priority, but she was also a well-respected Realtor for over 40 years. She was licensed in both Connecticut and Florida. She loved helping her clients and forming relationships, as many of them became longtime friends of hers.
Mom was a highly intelligent person who also loved to read and send her kids their daily horoscope along with pictures of the sunset off the lake of her home in Lake Suzy, FL where she lived with her beloved dog, Charlie. Mom had some very long-time friends she cherished and loved. She always shared her many stories with us of these great friendships.
We find peace in knowing that Mom can now join our Dad again for eternity, along with all of our loved ones who have since passed. This includes the many family pets we had that have been waiting for her. Our Mom lived a blessed life and shared that life with everyone. She was always so proud to talk about any of our accomplishments. We are all better people because of her. Mom left a legacy that will live on in all of us. Until the day we will once again be together, all I can say is thank you Mom for simply being you. We will love you forever!
Survivors include her daughter, Kimberly (Chris) Glenney and Stacey Hannon, her son, Michael (Jennifer) Hannon and daughter, Tamara Hannon; her brother, Jon (Marnie) Morris; her grandchildren, Michael, Travis, Courtney, Matthew and Sean; great grandchildren, Maddie, Silas, Caden and baby girl Hannon and several nieces and nephews.
