My thoughts and prayers go out to Desmond, their children and their grandchildren. I met Cheryl-Ann in the spring of 2014. It seems since then her life was so full with the marriages of all her children followed by the birth of the grandchildren. All the things that matter. She just glowed talking about the little ones. I am saddened that she didn't make it retirement age so she could just be Nana, wife and mother and forget about all the challenges presented by working in our broken health care system. She was a very proud and classy woman and I am so glad she was my friend. May she be a peace.

My condolences to Desmond and their kids, Nick, Tiffany and Nicolette. I met Cheryl over a decade ago when I made a trip with Desmond to Florida. There was nothing she didn't do to make me feel at home and always had us laughing, she even let us borrow her car a few times. Always smiling always caring, she definitely will be missed.

Oh what a huge loss! I still cherish the days when she taught me dance at St. Gabriel’s and passionately fought for me to have a chance to represent my school in dance. What a beautiful mentor she was in teaching me that I was worth it and that I had a gift to share with the world. May the angels continue to smile as you join them my awesome Miss Green

Deepest condolences to you my dearest Desmond and your family. Cheryl was more than just a cousin, she was my second sister. I remember all the fun loving times growing up at her grandmother's house in San-Fernando Street. Warm, gentle and ever loving, never raising her voice or even getting angry. Her infectious laughter and cheerful smiles showing her dimples, all of which radiated around her where ever she was or when ever she entered a room.A giver and firm believer in her God. Words cannot express my pain at her passing, but,I as well as you, will continue to have her in our hearts and cherish all the beautiful memories which she has given and left with us. Rest assured and take comfort that she's with her God,and will continue as she's always done, to look out and protect us as our Guardian Angel and I'm sure that she'll want us as the song says"All I ask of you,is to remember me as loving you." Sleep in peace my dear and we'll all meet up on that final day.

Jacy, Russell & the Girls left a message on August 4, 2020:
Cheryl’s light will always shine. Her charismatic presence was infectious. Cheryl’s indomitable spirit, work ethic and pursuit of excellence were nurtured from her youth. We grew up as sisters on Arch Street and were surrounded by love and by strong, inspiring women - her mother, Joan, and great aunt, Ivy (my grandmother) with whom she shared a very special affinity, not the least of which was their strength and enduring faith. During her teen years, Cheryl’s incredible balance of school and international dance seemed effortless, and continued to mark her approach to all her many accomplishments throughout her life. Her family is living testament to Desmond’s and Cheryl’s greatest achievements. Her undeniable love and fortitude for family and faith extended beyond her nuclear family. No matter the time or distance which may have passed we always felt welcomed, loved and reminded of our rich and vibrant Trini heritage. Cheryl’s untimely passing is beyond difficult but know that she joins our beloved who have gone before her, to continue to guide and protect you. Forever cherished and deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.

A Special Person - A True Friend Less than 12 hours after my last phone call with my friend, the reality that it was my LAST phone call with her came in the form of another call, this time from Desmond to tell me that Cheryl died suddenly. Cheryl, who I spoke to the night before, laughed and chatted about all the usual things, was gone. Our friendship goes back too many years to count, to our early days as teachers at St. Gabriel’s Girls’ R.C. in Trinidad, to discussing grandchildren and daily events. While I am sad, images of her style, laugh, generous spirit, joie de vivre make me smile. I am comforted knowing that her love of her family and friends was bested only for her love of God. Her relationship with God has ensured that she has made her way to the Kingdom, and we can all find great joy in that fact. Cherrie Morong-Farrell

Simon Paul left a message on August 2, 2020:
So much fond memories of growing up on Arch Street Vistabella come flooding back. Benn, Durity, Iniss, Placide and Paul families. We all had our own little village there. Cheryl was always a burst of energy and verve. She was forthright, not afraid to give her opinion. A dancer and a teacher and accomplished in both areas. I remember her jumping out of a pumpkin costume to the delight and roars of the “Savanah” to become the Best Village Queen of Trinidad and the pride of Vistabella. In all her visits to Trinidad, she was always the same warm and friendly person I knew her to be. There was such a warm and pleasant feeling seeing Desi and Cheryl develop a bond and later become husband and wife. For me, it was a match made in heaven. Heaven now has Cheryl, but the memories of her will be heaven in the hearts of her loved ones. May the peace of God rest, remain and abide with all her loved ones.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I’ve always asked about you and your whereabouts. Because of you, my love for culture was exposed. You taught me to dance in Vistabella and help me find a way to express myself. This lead me to becoming involved in community groups in my adopted home of Toronto where I was one of many administrators of a premier dance group. Thanks You. May you Rest In Eternal Peace and may your family and relatives fine comfort in the beautiful memories you left in their hearts. Dance on, Dance on!

Cheryl, I will always remember you as loving, exciting, and dynamic person. We grew up, for the first 7.5 years of my life, together in the family home on Arch St., where I thought of you more of a sister than a cousin. I cherish the memories of your visits to Vancouver over the years, and I am very grateful we had the opportunity to finally reunite last year in Florida. My thoughts are on you, and with your family. Love Always, Gordon
