Christine Alexandre
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christine Alexandre, of Port Charlotte, Florida, left us on December 13, 2024, just one day before her 91st birthday. Born in La Vallée de Jacmel, Haiti. Christine was the last surviving child of Catherine and Adolph Mathieu.
Christine was the devoted wife of the late Neptune Alexandre, who preceded her in death 20 years earlier, also in December. Together, they built a beautiful family and life filled with love and dedication. She is survived by her four children—Carl, Lydie, Henri, and Marie—nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her unwavering love and guidance. She will also be remembered by her countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
In her early years in Haiti, Christine worked as a home economics teacher, mentoring and inspiring young adult women with practical skills and knowledge. In 1970, she moved to the United States with her husband, where she pursued a career as a healthcare professional in New York. Her compassion and dedication to others defined her professional life. After her retirement, she and Neptune relocated to Florida where they enjoyed a peaceful and fulfilling life surrounded by their family and friends.
Christine was known for her strong will, resilience, and boundless love for her family. She was a matriarch in the truest sense, providing strength and wisdom to all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the countless lives she touched.
