Cynthia Adeline Sowden, 93, of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Port Charlotte, Florida died Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Estelle’s Hospice House in Ocala.
Cynthia was born October 25, 1926 in Kingston, Jamaica to the late Lucuis and Alice Bennett. She immigrated to the United States in 1975 year to New York City, New York. She was a retired nurse’s aide.
She is survived by her loving family, five sons, Larry Chambers, Courtney Foreman, Cedric Murray, Carl Sowden and Ronald Sowden; a daughter, Yvonne McGhee; two step-daughters, Jennifer and Juliet Sowden; a step-son, Barrington Sowden; four sisters, Delores Bryant, Mildred Robinson, Charmaine Fray and Lorna Timoll; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, Aug. 1, 2020 at Roberson Funeral Home, 2151 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33948. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Port Charlotte, Florida.  In compliance with suggested guidelines to help prevent the further spread of Covid 19 and protect our most vulnerable and at-risk individuals, we ask anyone in attendance to please be respectful of others and observe social distancing and wear a personal protective mask.
