David A. Wilson, 75, of Port Charlotte, FL, died in his home on Monday, November 13, 2017, in Port Charlotte, FL.

He was born May 19th, 1942 in Athol, Massachusetts, to the late Herbert E. and Clara May (nee – Durant) Wilson. David served in the US Navy on the USS Essex for four years. He joined the Vermont State Police and served 22 years. He was instrumental in forming the Vermont State Police honor guard. David was a member of the dive team and participated in the SWAT team.
Dave is survived by his loving wife Cheryl, of 55 years, and his son Michael and his partner Gayle Stone of White River Junction, and two grandchildren, Travis and Taylor Wilson of White River Junction, VT. Two sisters Darlene Castellano of Virginia and Dottie Lefebvre of Maine. Also beloved aunt, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Special friends Cornell and Diane, Pat and Bruce, Jim and Lori, and Jeff and Betty. Along with many other great friends.
Please join us for a celebration of Dave’s life from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the All-Star Sports Grill & Bar at 2360 Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41) in Port Charlotte.
