David “Dave” R. Talbot, 63, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Florida.

David was born on September 28, 1962, in Chelsea, Massachusetts.  Dave grew up in Melrose, MA, the second of seven children. He was the son of Joseph “Roger” Talbot, who survives him, and the late Anne “Yolande” Talbot, who passed away in 2021.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his six siblings: Karen & husband Bill Farnsworth, Mike Talbot, Ron Talbot, Dan & wife Lourdes Talbot, Aimee Fowler, and Rachelle & husband Luke Begley. Dave also leaves behind thirteen nieces and nephews, two great-nephews, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Dave worked his way through the ranks, building a successful career as an Investment Sales Executive. His hard work allowed him to semi-retire in his 50s and relocate to Punta Gorda, FL, where he traded his briefcase for the back nine and filled his days with golf, sunshine, and relaxing by the pool.

He was a son who would show up with a sandwich, ready for a hard-fought game of chess. A brother who would take you cruising on his motorcycle or meet you for a round of golf. An uncle who reached out, wanting to know how his nieces and nephews were doing. A friend who’d call to talk up the Patriots, Celtics or Red Sox. And Dave never passed up a trip to the beach—where he was happy to teach anyone within earshot the difference between big waves and wimp riders.

Dave had a way of making an impression on people, whether they wanted him to or not. He had a joke for every person and every occasion, not all polite, but always delivered with a handsome, disarming smile that made you laugh along with him. Dave was uniquely, unapologetically Dave. He lived life on his own terms, loved his family and friends, and managed to make plenty of memories and stories along the way. He will be deeply missed and greatly remembered. To quote his favorite movie, he really had a wonderful life.
