DAVID ROSS PALMER, 63, of Punta Gorda, Florida, has passed away, and It is therefore with a heavy heart that I had to say goodbye to my Best Friend, My Rock, The Love of my Life on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

David graduated from Marlboro High. Built homes and lived in Townshend VT, Mashpee MA, Punta Gorda FL. After a tragic accident left David paralyzed, he overcame many challenges. He helped to raise 3 beautiful children Bruce, Sean, and Asialee, and 2 precious grandchildren, Hunter, and Callie, all who he loved deeply. David is survived by his beloved wife Denise Archambeault Palmer, siblings Anna Mae Grout, Robert “Skippy” Palmer and wife Donna, Deanna “DeeDee” and husband Andy Blais, Nancy, and husband Richard Bent, and Jeanette Laucis. Also, in-laws Debbie Joyce & Steve, Danny Archambeault & Michelle. David has many nieces and nephews who adored him: William “Billy D” McNeil, Jeffrey McNeil, Monique (Lambert) Skarin, Jimmy Lambert, Tracy (Palmer) Joyce, Owen Palmer, Dasia Palmer, Anne Marie Palmer, Andre Blais, Desiree (Blais) Azzalina, Michael Bent, Michelle Bent, Kelly (Chaves) Hurd, David Chaves, and April (Laucis) Parillo. David is predeceased by Robert “Skip” Palmer (Dad), Helen Ross Palmer (Mom), Helen “Terry” Lambert (sister), Robert Archambeault (Father-in-Law), Grace Archambeault (Mother-in-Law) and brothers-in-law Michael Joyce, Jimmy Grout, and Kenny Laucis.

David was loved by all and made friends everywhere he went. David most recently worked at Home Depot in Punta Gorda as a Kitchen Designer where he had won multiple awards. Everyone who met him loved him. He overcame many challenges with his wife Denise always by his side. David competed in many sports including mono-skiing, sled hockey, and water skiing. He always tried to encourage disabled people to get out and try things. Most recently he played curling at the Cape Cod Curling Club in Falmouth, working up to be on the US Olympic Curling Team competing in the 2014 Paralympics in Sochi Russia.

David was an amazing man, expecting nothing and always working hard to take care of himself and his family. He will be missed deeply by so many.

David will be missed very much, I'll always have those great memories of him from school, parties in Bellingham, and everything he had overcome after that one unfortunate day. In my opinion he was an inspiration and poster child for "Just Do It", and that he did. Denice my heart goes out to you and your families. David is truly a great man, God Bless You All, and much Love to you all.

My great privilege to have known Dave in his roles in classrooms and particularly on the playgrounds of Quashnet School. He was an Olympian there as well ,leading and teaching through his character which was infused with empathy, genuine kindness and caring for the vulnerable as well as gifted. I'm saddened to learn that he is no longer on this life's playground. I hope that your family's sorrow may be somewhat sweetened by such memories.

I just learned the very sad news of Dave’s passing and send my heartfelt sympathy to the family. The 1st flash I had was of Dave’s beautiful smile and friendly, enthusiastic nature as he rolled into my classroom in Mashpee. When I read his obituary, I smiled even more because I had captured that expression so clearly in my mind before seeing the great picture that was included. Dave was an inspiration. We met when I was Bruce’s 1st grade teacher. Then I had the pleasure of seeing Dave more routinely when, for a short time our paths overlapped , both working at Quashnet.. He will be remembered fondly

Dave brought joy and a sense of pride to all of us at the Cape Cod Curling Club. When Dave and his family left for Florida, his send-off party at the club, with so many attending, was one to remember. A beautiful picture of our Olympians: Dave, Meghan Lino and Steve Emt , today hangs proudly in our warm room.

Dear Denise our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. David was always so kind and sweet when we were in High School. May the love you both shared be keep you strong through this difficult time. God Bless 🙏💜💙

Dave was such a Quashnet treasure! He was so loved by staff and students. Knowing Dave was such an honor. He was quick to smile and was always friendly. He will be missed by so many. My condolences to you all.

In addition to the sadness the news of Dave's passing brings is also my gratefulness of having known him. What immediately comes to mind is the smile that was always there whenever I saw him at Quashnet where we worked together. The entire school was so excited and proud of him when he competed in the Paralympics and the joy we all felt when he returned is a lovely memory. My thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. I worked with him at the Quashnet School, where his love for people was so evident. Whether it was in the copy room or out at recess, he was always smiling and making the best of each day. The day we held a pep rally in his and his teams’ honor before the Paralympics will always be a fond memory, as will seeing him compete on television. It was like knowing a famous person!! I will remember him most, though, for his enthusiasm and friendliness. Our family is sending you love while you mourn this amazing person.

MY SWEET SWEET David I am at such a aw I don't even know what o think or say I am finally crying took me all this time. I love u to the moon and back and we had so many good memories. I took care of you from birth till I got married. U hung on to my dress the day I married. Would not let go. U told me I broke your heart cause I left home and you. So I Wil be with u again sooner than later I am old now. I remember one day u called me u were like 6 u knew my number even. U said to me mae mae u could not say Anna Mae when u coming home I miss u. Omg I went right there and got u. U have left a large large hole in my heart and nothing can fill it. U were it. I will never be the same. I can see u and Tony starting a curling club up there in heaven. U loved curling and all your friends there espically Megan. Rest my sweet baby brother and I will see u again.
