David Selvaraj, 82, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

Selvaraj was born to David and Ponnammal on September 3, 1943, in India. David trained as a Registered Nurse in India, and he worked in Kuwait for 5 years before coming to the U.S. in 1973. He got married on September 12, 1974, to his lovely wife in India. He completed his working career as a Respiratory Therapist. In 1995 he suffered a stroke that weakened the dominant side of his body but thankfully he had no other major health events in his life. He was a quiet man but was often complimented for his smile that came naturally with his pleasant and relaxed nature. Dedicated and devoted to his Christian faith he spent much of his time with the church, teaching Bible study, playing drums with the Worship band, and volunteering for community service. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports and spending time with his family and friends. David was a good and generous man who will be missed dearly by all who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tharmabai, and 3 sons, Edwin, Christopher, and Stephen; his elder brother Solomon’s children, Jebarson, Libson Raj, Merlin Rose Sheela, and his younger sister, Sorna Bai Selvamony, and her daughter Jenifer Renjini.

A viewing will be held 5:00PM-7:00PM, Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, July 10, 2026, at Roberson Funeral Home in Port Charlotte followed by an interment at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, FL.
