Dolores was born May 11, 1936 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and moved to Port Charlotte in 1999 from San Bernardino, California. She was a registered nurse for many years. She was the nurse for the Charlotte County Correctional Facilities in Charlotte County Florida for many years. She was the oncology nurse for St. Josephs Hospital many years ago. She was passionate with animals and loved them dearly. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her Daughter, Deborah Smiley of Palm Bay, FL; a son, David A. Bird of Washington; 4 sisters, Dorothy S. Morris and Jane Marincek both of Port Charlotte, FL, Thelma Kimmel of Valparaiso, IN, and Blanche Emerick of Greensborough, SC; 2 nieces, Karen Karch and Joan Hawkins of Port Charlotte, FL; and 4 grandchildren, Brittany, Megan, Suzanne and Rebecca.
