Domenic B. Occhipinti, 81, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed into the loving presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus on Friday, September 23, 2016.

Domenic was born on February 2, 1935 in Medford, Massachusetts. He was a husband to Maria, a father to Michael, James, and Michele (deceased); a grandfather to Blake, Pierce, Troy, Luke, and Andrew; a brother to Joseph, Maria Elenne, Josephine (deceased), Vincent (deceased), and Betty Ann (deceased); a friend to numerous golfing buddies and men from First Alliance Church, and a veteran who served his county in the US Air Force. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? Thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” I Cor. 15:55, 57.

Memorial Service will be held 1:00PM, Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at First Alliance Church in Port Charlotte, Florida.

From 1997 to 1998, Uncle Memo and Chocha Rosie told my Dad that he was welcome to move himself and his five children to Punta Gorda to live with them in order to start anew. Living in Florida will always be apart of my life, a brief year that the Lord was sovereign over in directing my Dad's steps for future living and to develop a relationship with my Aunt and Uncle. From visiting in his San Diego home for Christmas's, to enjoying the pool in Deep Creek, I want to remember and thank my Uncle as a man who God used to extend his home when my family needed it. He gave us place to be and this was God's plan for us. Thank you Uncle Memo for reaching out to you Brother-in-Law (my Dad) and taking on the crazy idea of housing five children, ages from teenage to kindergarten. I know we drove you crazy at times (many times!), but just as God has prepared a place for you, so you did for us. We love you and know He has you fully. -Yuri Iwaniuk-
