Donna Jean Turner, 74, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017, at TideWell Hospice House in Port Charlotte. She was born on February 1, 1942 in Aurora, Illinois and moved to Washington State in 1975 where she and her husband Everett spent 20 years running many businesses including a restaurant. Donna was very involved with the Moose Lodge, and she supported her husband with the Knights of Columbus for many years. They happily retired and made the cross country move to Port Charlotte in 1995.
She was a world traveler, an avid fisherwoman, a talented painter, a gourmet chef, and someone who always wanted to learn more. Donna was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, and she will be missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of hard work and never giving up will permeate through her family forever. Her will to thrive and carry on was unparalleled and she will be respected and admired by all who knew her. Her life was devoted to her beautiful family and watching their success and happiness grow as well as being able to see her grandchildren thrive. There was absolutely nothing she wouldn’t do for her family, and her love knew no boundaries. She had a generous spirit and a forgiving heart. She never ever gave up on the people she loved.
Donna is survived by her loving children, son Nick Kapande (Heather), son George Kapande (Tammy), and daughter Jamae Garvin; grandchildren Samuel Garvin, Dane Kapande, Troy Kapande, Cheyanne Kapande; brother Gene Pierce (Debra), sister Lea Kramps (Jerry), sister Mary Johnson (Harold), extra special Aunt Jessie Van Deventer, Aunt Verna Faul, Cousin Debbie, Cousin Cookie, and a host of other cousins, nieces and nephews.
