Donna M. Shaffer-Bonsky, 68, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away and went to be with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in Heaven on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Donna was born August 19, 1943 to the late Donald & Wahneta Brush in Marion, OH and moved to Port Charlotte 3 years ago from there. Donna grew up in Delaware and Marion, OH for most of her life and went to school there graduation from Marion Harding High School in 1962. After high school, she attended some college at State School of Cosmetology then later decided to change curriculum and went on to nursing school at Marion Tech College in Marion, OH. She was an emergency room registered nurse for many years serving GOD’s people at Smith Clinic Medical Center in Marion and Delaware, OH. She retired in 2003 after her long and faithful career in nursing from 1986 to 2003. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Joseph P. Bonsky; a daughter, Diane Graham of Sarasota, FL; a brother, Donald Brush of Marion, OH; a granddaughter, Amanda Crites and a grandson, Christopher Miller and a great-granddaughter, Sophia Crites.
A special thank you and blessing goes out to the staff in the ICU, 3rd floor nursing team and especially Dr. Juan Rivera of Charlotte Regional Medical Center for their excellent medical & professional care to Donna.
