Douglas E. Fredericks, 83, of Punta Gorda, Florida died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda.
He was born April 7, 1924 in New York City, New York and has been wintering in Punta Gorda for 18 years from Massapequa and Hobart, NY. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired electrical engineer for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage, NY. He was a member of Elks Lodge of Punta Gorda and American Legion Post #110 of Port Charlotte. He was of Catholic faith.
Survived by his loving wife of 56 yrs. Mary Fredericks of Punta Gorda; Two sons, Douglas J. (Kathy-wife) Fredericks of Tallahassee, FL. and Kenneth C. (Rachael-wife) Fredericks of Brandon, VT; a niece, Madeline (Henry-Husband) Browning of Levittown NY a Sister, Anastasia (Peter-Husband) Harrington of Oyster Bay, NY; three grandchildren, Sharon Collin and Garrick.
