Douglas Keith Jones, 56, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. We are heartbroken that Doug has passed away.

Doug was born on March 7, 1966, in Zanesville, Ohio to William “Keith” Jones and Linda Meloy Jones. His grandparents were Walter and Mabel Meloy, and Edward and Georgeanna Jones. He also had 2 deceased uncles: Terry Jones of Punta Gorda and Edward Jones of Zanesville, Ohio.

He is survived by his family, Erika, Anddye, Moreah and Jacob; his sister Leslie, David, William and Nathan Schuldt; his brother Jeff and Yvi Jones and the many family members in Ohio; Uncle John and Kim Jones of Pataskala and all his cousins; Jay, Patrice, Pat, Pam, Paige, Chris and Nick.

To anyone who knew Doug, knew a person that was always there when you needed help. His life was about service to his friends, family and anybody in need. He made an impact on the lives of everyone he met.

There are so many wonderful things we can say about Doug and what he meant to everyone who knew him, and we are devastated by his untimely loss. The family wishes to thank everyone that has reached out to offer support. Doug would have been so proud to know how much he was loved and admired for being what he was; a good, kind and caring person. That is truly his legacy. We will miss him forever.

I love you doug. I don't know what else to say. You ment so much to me and you taught me so much. I'm writing this in the aftermath of hurricane ian and from all things you taught me I've been able to help myself my family and my friends and neighbors. I'll never be as smart as you but you taught me a lot. So I'm trying my best to carry on your legacy of caring and love and intelligence and education for anyone who will listen. I've only met one true and certified genius in my life and it was doug Jones. I'll love and miss you and keep you in my heart and thoughts forever

I love you so much doug. You were a father figure when I needed one and I loved you like family for every moment I knew you. We met when I was 18 years old and I'm 34 now and you taught me everything I know. You gave me a career, you gave me support, you gave me love. You were the smartest most intelligent person I ever met. I'll never stop missing you and my heart will never mend with you being gone my friend. I'll never forget you Douglas keith jones

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Doug’s passing. We were good friends in high school and ate lunch together every day. They are some of my favorite memories from that time. He would have done anything for anyone that asked him for help.. just a great guy. I hadn’t seen him in years but have always held a special place in my heart for him. My sincere condolences to his family.

Our deepest sympathy to Doug’s family. Your loss is felt by many. We remember Doug when he was our paperboy, years ago. Could always depend on Doug. I fondly remember Doug from Meadow Park. He was a good kid, funny & he & the other Doug Jones in his class were always confusing us. May he rest peacefully knowing he touched many hearts. Doug shall always be in our prayers.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Doug’s sudden passing. I fondly remember growing up in the neighborhood with him, spending time together waiting for the bus in elementary school, playing in band together, our classes together, and just laughing and having fun. Doug was always kind and thoughtful of others - and incredibly intelligent. Love to all
