Dr. James Leo McMullen, 66, “Dr. Mac” passed away September 29, 2022, after a long illness.
He graduated from Ridley High School then went onto get his medical degree from Kansas City University of Health and Science where he graduated second in his class. He practiced emergency medicine until his retirement in 2019 at Bayfront Medical Center in Punta Gorda, now ShorePoint-Health. He was a board-certified member of Emergency Medicine and a Fellow. Dr. Mac’s extraordinary education and his dedication to his patients and the Hippocratic Oath are his true legacy.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Wolfe McMullen, stepson Chad Leitzke, mother and father Angle Jean and James Leo Sr., sister Dr. Susan(Michael Melton), brother Joseph (Jane) and Aunt and Uncle Marge and Sam Speer, and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life was held in Springfield, Pennsylvania on January 4, 2023. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will be held Saturday 11:00 AM, December 2, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 211 W. Charlotte Ave., Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
