I am so sorry to hear of Dr McMullen's passing. I am a retired FF/Paramedic from Charlotte County Fire & EMS. I always found Dr McMullen to be a kind & compassionate man. I really liked him. He made a difference. I remember one time a drunk left the ER & he told them they were too drunk to drive, that he would call them a cab. They refused & were going to drive. He told them he would call 911 & report them as a drunk driver. They didn't believe him. He followed them to their car & told them again he was calling 911. He called & the person was arrested & their licence revoked. He may have saved many lives by doing this. He will be missed.

As long as I can remember, I followed my big brother around and learned from him. He had a love of science, sci fi, biology, and higher education. His guidance lives on in me to this day. You were a beautiful human being and a fine, talented, and compassionate physician. If only, if only diabetes did not steal you away. Another time, big brother, we will meet again. So sorry for the tremendous loss of Jim. He lives on in each of us through our memories.
