Dr. Stephanie Shell (née Wolfe) of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away on May 16, 2026 at the age of 52.

Born on May 17th, 1973, in Zanesville, Ohio, Stephanie was the loving wife of Dr. Steven Shell, and the beloved daughter of Perry Wolfe and Cheryl Wolfe, who survive her.  She was a devoted sister to Jennifer Buchanan (née Wolfe) and Christina Watkins (née Wolfe).  She was a cherished aunt to Victoria Watkins, Hannah Watkins, Joshua Watkins, James Watkins, Andrew Buchanan, and Michael Buchanan.

Stephanie was a proud graduate of New Lexington High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Capital University and later achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a physician by earning her Medical Degree from Ohio University.

For 25 years, Stephanie served as a family physician, dedicating her life to caring for others. She was widely known for her compassion, kindness, humor and the genuine concern she showed each patient. To many, she was more than a doctor, she was a trusted confidant, a steady presence, and a source of comfort during life’s most difficult moments. Her patients and colleagues alike will remember her gentle spirit and unwavering dedication.

Outside of her profession, Stephanie embraced life with joy. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with family and friends. She also had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs Sophie and Pearl.

Stephanie was deeply loved and cherished by her husband, family and friends, and profoundly respected by the many lives she touched through her work. Her warmth, generosity, and compassion leave behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held locally, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date on the family farm.
