I am so Heart Broken to see That SSG Moore (DUKE) is gone. He was my mentor throw-out my time in the Army. I remember getting out of AIT from Ft Leonard Wood, MO. I met this sterling big man, and I quote " GET OUT OF MY FACE" and push as soon as I came to the 410th and when I met him and he was my Plt Sgt I knew then I wanted to learn from him. I remember when we were getting ready to go to Afghanistan we gave him his tattoo on his neck his daughters name. HE will always be in my heart and soul; he was a mentor and best friend! RIP My friend! I Love you and prayers for your family! SGT Dickerson

Sad to see. I served with the SSG Moore at Ft. Hood, and in Afghanistan. I always knew when he was around it was pure business for the betterment of all. Condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. Rest easy, SSG! You served your country well.

I cannot thank you for the time that you and I serve together. You made Korea so much easier for me. Thank you for carrying me through that year. I will miss you as others will miss you. You are loved. I love you, brother.

My first deployment in the Army was with SSG Moore. I had the privilege of serving in his platoon under his leadership. My first interaction with Duke was in the 410th MP Company area out back where we held formations. Duke was well spoken and treated me yes like a new guy but made me feel at ease and welcomed me to the Platoon. He was fair, honorable and respectful. He is in a better place watching over his loved ones and his OEF 9-11 Platoon. Rest In Peace SSG Moore, thank you for making this once 19 yr old FNG feel part of the team. I will forever be grateful.
