EDNA F. SMILEY, 97, of Greenville, NC and formerly of Port Charlotte, FL
died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 in Greenville.
She was born May 28, 1909 in Lawrence County, Indiana to Fred and Nellie
Flinn and moved to Port Charlotte in 1969 from Bowie, Maryland and then to Greenville 1 year ago. She was retired from the U.S. Bureau of Printing & Engraving, Washington, D.C. and a member of the National Assn. of Retired Federal Employees. Edna was a
member of the Peace River Church of Christ of Punta Gorda, FL.
She is survived by 6 granddaughters, Randi Kriener of Port St. Lucie, FL,
Toni Pals of Greenville, NC, Debbi Baughan of Port St. Lucie, Joni DeAngelis of
Lusby, MD, Peggy Kueberth of Arnold, MD and Sally Stevens of Churchton, MD;
18 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren; and four nieces.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband,
Doug M. Smiley, a son, Chester Dale Smiley, two brothers, Orin and Carl Flinn,
and a step-daughter, Virginia Corcoran.
