Elbert F. Koch, 91, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Tuesday, April 5, 2010 at Charlotte Harbor Health Care. He was born April 23, 1918 in Queens, New York to George and Clementine Koch and moved to Port Charlotte twenty years from West Islip, NY.He was a veteran of WW II and the Korean War serving the US Navy. He was a retired banker in New York.
Survived by his loving wife of 58 yrs of marriage, Dorothy A. Koch; two daughters, Karen (husband Chris) Maher of Port Charlotte and Diane (husband Mike) Kelley of Arizona; a son Steven M. Koch of Boynton Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Shannon, Chris, Jenny, Carrie, Steven and James. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be missed, but not forgotten. He enjoyed boating, fishing and became a talented artist. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
There will be a private graveside service and military honor by the US Navy at Sarasota National Cemetery.
