Elio Luis Fernandez, 24, of Jamestown, North Carolina and formerly of Punta Gorda, Florida died Friday, May 4, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC as a result of a motorcycle accident.
He was born April 7, 1994 in Clearwater, Florida and raised in Punta Gorda prior to moving and settling in Jamestown, North Carolina. He was an aircraft and powerplant mechanic for HAECO America. He had love for his country, motorcycles, fishing, hunting, guns, the outdoors and life itself. Elio lived life to the fullest, accomplishing all of his dreams and enjoying every moment along the way. He was truly a shining star who brightened the lives of everyone who crossed his path. There will never be anyone like him in this world. May he forever fly high and shine bright. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is survived by his loving family, his parents, Dr. Luis F. Fernandez and Anna M. Lopez Fernandez of Punta Gorda; and two brothers, Enrique of Utah and Luis C. Fernandez of Daytona Beach, FL.; and his friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 11, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, 215 Mary St., Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 11:00 AM, May 11, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 211 W. Charlotte Ave., Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Interment will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, Punta Gorda, FL.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to any charity of Choice.
