ELIZABETH CASAMASSIMA, 78, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte. She was born to Frank and Julia (Capocasale) Citino May 3, 1930 in Calabria, Italy and moved to Port Charlotte in 1993 from Harrison, NY.
She was a retired seamstress, homemaker, and member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. She was a loving, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and will be missed very much, but will not be forgotten.
Survived by her loving family, three daughters, Theresa (Bill) Martin of Levittown, NY, Julia (Sal) Auriemma of Port Charlotte and Isabell (Kevin) Topp of North Port; two sons, Rocco (Lucy) Casamassima and Frank (Marianne) Casamassima both of Port Charlotte; two sisters, Josephine Meliti of Italy and Libby of Scarsdale, NY; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Gaetano Casamassima.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 23, 2009 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Catholic wake service at 7:00 pm at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Entombment will follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda.
