She was born July 18, 1923 in Ashland, Kentucky. Prior to moving from St. Louis, Missouri to Punta Gorda in 1979, Elizabeth worked in Public Education. A member of First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda, she taught Sunday School Class for 14 years before finally retiring.
She is survived by her children, son Robert E. (Jennifer) Hoerner of St. Louis, MO, and daughter Christina A. (Charles) Wichmann of Port Charlotte, FL; five grandchildren, two great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and ten siblings, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, CDR. Helmuth Ernest Hoerner, U.S.N. (Ret.) on September 16, 2003.
No local services are planned. Services and burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
